Invitation to Bid Dairy Products for 2024/2025!

The Burlington Unified School District N0. 244 Board of Education will receive sealed bids on the purchase of dairy products for the 2024-2025 school year.  It is the intent of the Board to accept the lowest responsible bidder.  However, the Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids.  It is the responsibility of each bidder to comply with all local, state, and federal laws, ordinances, and regulations.  All out-of-state bidders must comply with preferential bid law K.S.A. 75-3740a.

GENERAL BID INFORMATION:

  1. All bids shall be sealed.  The outside of the envelope must be marked DAIRY BID.  FAX bids are acceptable, but must be followed with an official sealed bid.
  2. All bids shall be received at the Board of Education Office, 301 Neosho Street, Burlington, Kansas 66839, by 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 3, 2024.
  3. All bids shall be opened on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at 9:05 a.m.  The public is welcome to attend the bid opening.
  4. All bids shall state the total cost for the item(s) being bid.
  5. If a bidder substitutes a different item than one listed in the bid specification, a detailed description of the specifications of the substituted item must be enclosed in the bid.  The detailed description must prove the substituted item is equivalent in all aspects to the one specified.
  6. Delivery to be FOB Burlington, Kansas 66839

ITEM SPECIFICATIONS:

All items must be made in the USA as outlined in 7 CFR 210.21 (d) and SP 30-2017.  All non-domestics to be delivered must have prior approval.  The district will require documentation that requests consideration on the use of domestic alternative foods before approving an exception.  The district will require advanced written approval if a non-domestic product is to be delivered.  The food service director is responsible for providing this advance approval.  The district will require documentation to use a non-domestic food exception when competition reveals the cost of domestic food is significantly higher than the non-domestic food.  The district will require documentation for the use of non-domestic alternative food due to the domestic food not produced or manufactured in sufficient and reasonable available quantities of a satisfactory quality.  Specifications and estimated quantities of products is prepared by the district and provided to potential contractors desiring to submit bids/proposals for the products and services requested. 

 

Daily consumption of milk is estimated at 800 one-half pints.

1% White Milk, ½ pint

1% Chocolate Milk, ½ pint

1% Strawberry Milk, ½ pint

Gallon Whole Milk

Gallon 1% Milk

Reduced Fat Cottage Cheese, 5# container

Fat Free Sour Cream, 5# container

Fat Free Yogurt, 6 oz.

4oz. Juice—Apple, Orange, Cherry-Apple
