The Burlington Unified School District N0. 244 Board of Education will receive sealed bids on the purchase of dairy products for the 2023-2024 school year. It is the intent of the Board to accept the lowest responsible bidder. However, the Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids. It is the responsibility of each bidder to comply with all local, state, and federal laws, ordinances, and regulations. All out-of-state bidders must comply with preferential bid law K.S.A. 75-3740a.
GENERAL BID INFORMATION:
ITEM SPECIFICATIONS:
All items must be made in the USA as outlined in 7 CFR 210.21 (d) and SP 30-2017. All non-domestics to be delivered must have prior approval. The district will require documentation that requests consideration on the use of domestic alternative foods before approving an exception. The district will require advanced written approval if a non-domestic product is to be delivered. The food service director is responsible for providing this advance approval. The district will require documentation to use a non-domestic food exception when competition reveals the cost of domestic food is significantly higher than the non-domestic food. The district will require documentation for the use of non-domestic alternative food due to the domestic food not produced or manufactured in sufficient and reasonable available quantities of a satisfactory quality. Specifications and estimated quantities of products is prepared by the district and provided to potential contractors desiring to submit bids/proposals for the products and services requested.
Daily consumption of milk is estimated at 800 one-half pints.
